Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, Dubai
Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve – Dubai – United Arab Emirates
Al Maha is the perfect getaway and medicine for the soul. Upon arrival, we were met by Jason and Airlene who made sure that we had the most amazing stay at Al Maha, Dubai, after providing us with hot towels and delicious feet mango smoothies made on almond milk, like they knew! They briefed us on the resort and all the amazing activities which were on offer to us.
The resort is located about 45 minutes from Dubai city, in the middle of the desert with its silence and tranquility which makes it the perfect getaway retreat.
I cant think of a better place to recover and recharge my batteries after a hectic week of activities, filming and photo shoots. Al Maha offers the perfect balance of activities or you can simply relax and experience the wellness on offer. From its perfect location away from the cities traffic noise to the luxurious suits with its own private swimming pool with a magical view of the desert.
If you are not the kind person that likes to relax poolside or have the most amazing massage, then there are also tons of activities to keep you busy with, everything from sunset Camel treks to desert safari and sand dunes for the more adrenaline-filled kind (link to activities).
The swimming pools remain at a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius (84f), so you can enjoy an evening swim whilst waiting for dinner, which you can enjoy either in the hotels restaurant or sent to your suite, we took the latter option and got it sent and set up on our outdoor terrace next to our private pool with candles and fairy lights, very romantic for our Galentine (galentine = two friends celebrating Valentines together) we watched old Oscar winning speeches from our favorite movie stars on our phone, and we ate the most delicious freshly prepared food and enjoyed a glass of red wine. A gazelle even popped by to say hi before we headed to bed early. The next day I woke up early and snuck out for morning yoga when Kirsty was still sleeping (to be fair, she had 12 hours jet lag from LA to recover from and I only had 3 hours from Europe).
I cant think of a better and more relaxed place to visit when in Dubai, and if I get the chance, I’d love to go back here again, it was absolutely amazing and I felt like a new person filled with new energy returning back to the city. We only spent 24hrs at the Al Maha, but it was so relaxing that it felt like a week!!
Best feature: Excellent 5* service from knowledgeable staff, tranquil location, and incredibly maintained facilities.
Hotel in four words: MEDICINE FOR THE SOUL!
